The collaborator poet Gertrude Stein who’s mostly famous for being a butch lesbian, wrote the line”a rose is a rose is a rose.” That’s just a fancy way of saying it is what it is.
Sheryl Sandberg COO of Facebook, has decided that we should ban the word bossy. I’ve got a better idea. If we’re going to get rid of words, let’s start with “man made global warming.” Since the whole idea has been negated by anyone who has an ounce of common sense, including leading scientists and climatologists, there is no reason to ever use it again. When Al Gore feels the necessity to fly his carbon spewing jet to another climate change symposium the taxpayers should be able to penalize him with an exorbitant tax and if he ever uses the phrase “man-made global warming” again be sued by the people of the USA for perpetrating fraud.
Here’s another one: Islamophobia. This is just a made up word by Islamic freedom haters to perpetuate a faux grievance that they perpetuated. This is the Dictionary.com definition:
a persistent, irrational fear of a specific object, activity, or situation that leads to a compelling desire to avoid it.
I , for one, think it is perfectly rational to fear people who swear to kill you and go out of their way to prove it. So no more Islamophobia and for that matter, homophobia. Using the above definition I can also swear that the only thing most people fear is being forced to witness a gay pride parade with grown men flaunting their sexual proclivities and carrying on like adolescents during spring break overrunning their main streets.
Another one is racism. That word is getting so overused that no one even reacts. How about this retort, “Prove it.” But that’s just me; a bossy, middle aged,Jewish woman. I’m sure that Sheryl Sandberg has nothing to do with the Hillary Clinton push for the presidency and the banning of the word “bossy.” Even if the word bossy is banned from our lexicon we still can use the words ruthless, narcisstic, power hungry, liar, and crook. She is what she is
Here’s another one: Islamophobia. It’s a made up word by our Islamic “friends” to make Westerners feel guilty about defending ourselves, asserting ourselves, and protecting ourselves against enemies that have proven and stated that they are out to subjugate or kill us. According to the dictionary the definition is a “persistent, irrational fear of a specific object, activity, or situation that leads to a compelling desire to avoid it.” I don’t know about you, but when I know certain people are out to kill, maim or dimember me, I think it’s rational to want to avoid them.
