The Four Questions Updated

Happening NowThe  Passover holiday starts Monday night and Jews are  commanded to commemorate  our exodus from slavery to freedom  several millenniums ago.  Every year Jewish families all over the world  recite these words from the Haggadah:

“For not just one alone has risen against us to destroy us. Rather, in every generation, there are those that rise up against us to destroy us; and the Holy One, blessed be He, saves us from their hand. “

It would seem to me that a literate person could read and comprehend those words, but it doesn’t appear so. That’s why The Four Questions , an integral part of the seder, need to be updated: In order to reflect our modern Jewish reality malaise.

My first question: How can any Jew be involved with the Israel Hate group J Street  or any proponent of  BDS, Boycott Derangement Syndrome, and call himself pro-Israel? J Street is just one of the tentacles of the nefarious George Soros, who admits to feeling no shame during his Nazi collaborator days in Hungary .  He brags about coming from an “anti-Semitic Jewish family.”  He is the enemy .J Street demonizes Israel and lobbies for the two state ” solution.” It is the enemy. Federations and universities who cave to CAIR are the enemy.

Second question, Why was G-d deleted from Reform and some Conservative synagogues?  A Pew Poll verifies the reality of the disconnection  between Jews and  Ha Shem (G-d). For two generations Jewish children have been schlepped to after school Hebrew classes.  They have been hoodwinked into thinking it is just for their Bar/Bat mitzvah. Then they believe their religious obligations as a Jew  are completed.  According to  Michael Lerner, former SDS activist and publisher of Tablet, a far Left Jewish magazine, as long as Jews practice”Tikkun Olam” they  have kept their Jewish cultural identity. Without learning and studying our own religion, our relationship to Ha Shem is neglected; however, many synagogues traded worshipping Him for worshipping Leftism.

My third question: Why do we not learn from our own history? It’s not as if we haven’t seen this movie before. It is either willful blindness or plain stupidity. We have Holocaust studies on most campuses, Holocaust museums in  D.C ,L.A. and Yad  Vashem in Jerusalem, while  Jews scream the toothless slogan”Never again.”  Jews are still  being killed and maimed in terror attacks in Israel and in Kansas City. The Jews of France and Sweden fear for their lives, and Jewish organizations  all over the USA  submit like dhimmis to the fake cries of Islamophobia and the lies of Israel apartheid. The enemies of Israel rant that they will destroy Israel and the Leftist Jews gather together to form Boycott Derangement Syndrome Committees. Do they think working with the enemy will keep them safe?

And the fourth updated question has to be; Why do Jews like slavery better than freedom?  Even when Ha Shem brought us out of Egypt many Hebrews stayed and continued being  slaves. On the journey through the desert, many whined and cried because they wanted to go back. where life wasn’t as hard.  Many  Communists were and are Jews. They must believe that life is secure and peachy keen getting a government check.  A slave lives and dies at the whim of his master. Freedom is not for the fainthearted.  As my grandmother used to say,”For this world you have to be made of iron.” Tragedies happen. Decisions are hard. We make mistakes, we get hurt and start all over again. That’s part of freedom . As Jews we’re supposed to learn that Ha Shem is always with us . When we choose Him we choose life and freedom.

 

 

Jews in Leftist Clothing

IMG_0432 Caroline Glick wrote a great piece about the lack of Jewish identity which is posted on her web site and also in the Jerusalem Post.

As a former Sunday School and Hebrew teacher I would like to add my own unsolicited but heartfelt opinion.

Many American Jews are Reform, which is not authentic Judaism, but a perversion to make the religion more digestible for non-Jews. It is one of the main reasons why we are losing, and have lost, many Jews to assimilation and atheism. As part of its history, the first Hebrew Union graduating class of rabbis were feted with a non-kosher meal which included crab and frog legs. For two generations Reform Jews have been taught that the Torah is not Divine but written by men. Why would any Jewish child take their religion seriously? Christians are taught Jesus is the son of G-d. Muslims are taught the Koran is divine. Jews are taught to read enough Hebrew for their bar/bat mitzvah.

Tikkun Olam is a tenet of Judaism. It literally means means repairing the world. To the Leftist mind this translates that a Jew must support every social program under the sun.The new Jew believes in social programs instead of G-d and fixing his/her own soul.
For more than ten years I taught in Atlanta area Sunday schools. I have used many curricula and textbooks. None gave the students a spiritual and historical basis for having pride in their heritage. Not one gave them the essence of the religion. It is our obligation as Jews to live a righteous life and to hold fast to Torah. In antiquity the Jews were captured and taken to Babylonia in chains. Psalm 137 reminds us how important Jerusalem was to our ancestors.137:5 “If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning.” Our siddurs (prayer books) mention Jerusalem more than 600 times and never once in the Koran.

After life? daily prayer? Jewish children are taught that the former is ” not something Jews believe in” The latter is only necessary under dire circumstances.
Jews are a “stiff necked” people. We have been ranting and running from our covenant since bibical times. It’s time that Jews take the prayer, scrolled tightly in the mezuzah, seriously or for the next Pew survey there won’t be enough Jews to even poll.

Kermit Is Officially A Pig

Kermit baby The name Kermit always brings up touchy feely memories of Sesame Street,the loveable Muppets and their de facto leader Kermit the Frog, even though he had a strange romantic relationship with Miss Piggy. The name Kermit has now been hijacked by a monster.

The stories of the abortion “House of Horrors” is soul chilling. The fact that Dr. Kermit Gosnell’s workers were able to watch him sever the spines of babies who audaciously survived abortions is frightening. According to the grand jury report the workers often did the disgusting deed themselves when the doctor was too busy.

Some might say that abortion is legal so what’s the big deal?
The Nazis used that argument for every horror they committed. As I used to tell my adult students in ESOL class. There’s a differemce between legal and ethical. They aren’t synonyms. This isn’t only immoral. This is infanticide. This is the murder of black babies by a black doctor being paid by our government.

Leftist Jews state abortion is “okay” in Judaism. No, it isn’t. According to Aish.com abortion is only allowed if the mother’s life is at stake. “In general, abortion is permitted only if there is direct threat to the mother” According to rabbis who are poksim, or learned rabbis able to interpret halachaic laws, once the baby is even partly out of the womb the life is equal to the mother’s.

Dr. Kermit Gosnell is the American Mengele, but the Propaganda Ministry formerly known as the media, wants to make sure this is a non-story like Benghazi, Fast and Furious, and President Obama’s top secret background. Stories like this demonstrate why our country no longer stands for freedom. Our Torah states,” When you have a choice between life and death choose life.” This is what happens when you don’t.
