Hedonism has run rampant. The Left has infected our American culture with the its poison. I believe that the only way we can stop this deluge of increasingly less civilized behavior is to find common ground between Jews and Christians and to work together to build a wall against the poison.”Love thy neighbor as yourself.” We can use this guiding principle working together in both the business and personal aspects of our lives.
Using that principle, I decided to decorate our living room for Christmas just because it would make my spouse happy. Since it’s not one of my Jewish traditions, I was surprised to find out how much pleasure it gave me too. My husband has always participated in Sabbath candle lighting out of love and respect for me. Then one Friday night he realized he did it because he liked it. Both of us looked for and found ways to make the other happy without abandoning our personal beliefs. That is what we have to do as a country.
Many Leftist Jews don’t know, because they weren’t taught in Progressive Sunday Schools, that Torah states:
“Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind; it is an abomination.” “And if a man lie with mankind, as with womankind, both of them have committed an abomination.”
Note that the Torah does not use the word sin. That is because as Jews we believe that any wrong behavior written in Torah can be changed so that it conforms with what Ha Shem, or G-d, desires of us.
Both Christians and Jews believe in the writings of the Torah or Old Testament. Since Jesus was a Jew, it would make sense that what he was preaching was the Jewish philosophy. Phil Robertson has opened the door for both Christians and Jews to band together to stand for the beliefs they share. We are told that the Judeo-Christian ethos is the bedrock of the USA. One thing we’re not told is what that means. The fact is that Jews and Christians share the belief of a moral universe created by the One G-d. Espousing and standing firm in G-d’s words is the ammunition to take our country back from the likes of GLAAD and their ilk.
When we look at the contributions that Jews have given to Christians for the joyous holiday of Christmas we don’t have to look any farther than so many Christmas songs written by Jews like Irving Berlin. The Jewish joy of life and living permeate every song. It looks like the the song Hallelujah by the Jewish troubadour Leonard Cohen may now become another Christmas standard. As an old Jewish woman I can only say. Amen
