The Endless War by Leviticus

April 3 starts the Passover holiday.  It is commemorated as the holiday of freedom; the exodus from slavery.   For over 3000 years the Jewish people have been persecuted, slandered, hated, and killed  but we still survive.  This year these words in the Haggadah ring especially true  \

“For not just one alone has risen against us to destroy us. Rather, in every generation, there are those that rise up against us to destroy us; and the Holy One, blessed be He, saves us from their hand.”

Even the most progressive Jews cannot deny the overt animosity our president and his minions have displayed towards the Jewish state.  Unfortunately, they also can’t deny their own culpability. This is also an old story that we have seen for millennia and it doesn’t end well.

The Jewish people have been an integral part of this country from its very beginnings.  The first 23 Jews landed in Nieuw  Amsterdam ( New York under British rule) in 1654. Although the governor, Peter Stuyvesant , wished to rid the colony of  its new immigrants, his bosses refused his request and Jews have remained  important to the economic, cultural, and political  development of this country.  Many of our Founding Fathers studied  Hebrew as part of their religious  training and were educated  at Harvard or Yale, which were started as bible based ( Old Testament) schools.

Today we have Jews, non-Jews, Muslims, NGOs, and countries lined up to curse Israel, Zionism, and of course its purveyor the Jew. This gives the murderers free rein to murder rabbis at prayer, children at school, and shoppers at kosher markets. According to those who pledge their lives to hate and kill, the morass in the Middle East is all because of that tiny Jewish country which they all pledge to wipe off the map. For some Jews, that doesn’t pose a problem.  They jump on the band wagon, scream “Free Palestine,” and  denigrate their own people.  An example of this is the hipster Lena Dunham’s latest piece in The NewYorker. Leaving the unbelievable meanness to her boyfriend,stupidity and terrible writing aside, the title alone is disgusting.

What if the title of Lena Dunham’s screed was “Dog or My Black Boyfriend: A Quiz” or lets really push the envelope and change it to “ Dog or my Muslim Boyfriend: A Quiz?”  I don’t think I’m exaggerating if I write that the internet, Twitter, and Facebook would be lit up with all kinds of name calling, cries of racism, Islamophobia, and even death threats. There is no rational reason for this hatred, especially since Lena Dunham’s mother is a Jew. Tony Kushner, Peter Beinhart, Thomas Friedman, and let’s not forget Henry Kissinger, have all made it clear of their detestation of the tribe they were born into. Kissinger even refused Israel arms and weapons when Israel was attacked  by Egypt on Yom Kippur.

Seven people were injured and three were murdered during Spring Break.  The shooter was black.  That wasn’t in the headline or in the article.  A commentator made a comment about Mrs. Obama looking like a character out of “Planet of the Apes” and he lost his job. Maybe he meant she looked like Charlton Heston.  The insult, however, was not in the league of the Dunham tirade against her boyfriend.  Instead, her Jewish editor decided to publish it. The blowback against her has proven to be minimal.

This Passover, at every seder, all of us should take that ancient warning seriously. Progressive Jews, Lefty Jews , and Communist Jews- “dayenu”  Jabotinsky states that  Jews we have nothing to apologize for.  We have had enough of your  crawling and appeasing.  Jabotinsky said we should tell all the haters to go to hell. “Dayenu”Jews , of the Left stand up for yourselves and your people.  Now that’s true freedom. Israel: A Modern Miracle

MAP_Israel-todayPolitico came out with a statement that the US might no longer be a shield for Israel against international pressure here. I got news for  Obama, the Amerian Pravda- Politico, and all the Lefists who are salivating for the demise of Israel. There is only one shield for Israel- G-d. Some people are non- believers.  Some people  believe in One World government (like the Nazi George Soros), but  the country of Israel is populated by people who still believe in miracles.

How can they not be when they have been harangued  by  international hate pundits daily and the country still thrives.  Its southern border was bombarded by thousand s of Hamas rockets and it still thrives. Not to mention, of course, the hundreds of miles of terror tunnels dug  for the sole purpose of murdering  Israelis. The Iron Dome?  That in itself is  a miracle.because it repositioned all those missles and rockets set to destroy Jewish lives even when its operators were afraid it wasn’t working. As a matter of fact  that was proclaimed in headlines here and here and of course all of us know the miraculous  winning of every war the Arabs start with the tiny Jewish state

Unknown to many of our “intellectuals and elites” an Arab is the head of the Israel Election Committee. Not only that, but 74% of a Bedouin tribe voted for Bibi. Even Obama sending a platoon of henchmen to sabatoge the election couldn’t sway Israeli voters. Considering  that Israel is called an apartheid state, smeared and slandered daily, those uncomfortable facts make Netanyahu’s victory  miraculous. It is even more miraculous that  the tiny Jewish state, surrounded by enemies who want it wiped off the face of the earth, is not only surviving but thriving.

Torah tells of the story of the spies who were sent into the Land of Canaan.  The Hebrews were punished to wander in the desert for 40 years for  the sin of not believing that G-d’s miracles would lead them to victory over an overwhelming army. The communist Left has shackled countries and generations to the idea that there is no G-d but government. The pundits and politicians decrying the historical Netanyahu win and spreading fear of  US abandonment are of this ilk. To them the G-d of Israel is only a story that young children and unenlightened boors believe in.

I’m one of those boors who believe this Netanyahu victory is miraculous. We know our State Department spent  more than $300,000 of taxpayer money to sabatoge the election and is now plotting other ways to control its “ally.” We are often told that American will always be steadfast in her alliance to Israel. That’s not really true. What many don’t know was that Eddie Jacobson, a Jew, was Harry Truman’s best friend and business partner.  It was that relationship that sealed the United States vote for Israel independence. Isn’t that a miracle?

The modern country of Israel is only 67 years old and has accomplished more than many which are hundreds of years old. Its medical breakthroughs and technology  are among the most advanced in the world.  Netanyahu’s win wasn’t the only miracle.  The  whole counry is.

Jews On the Side of the Tigers Once Again

Dead_rabbiAbe Foxman, head of the ADL, has, once again, stood on the side of the tiger. He    announced that Bibi should not speak to our Congress since it is “unhelpful” with “unintended consequences.” As a Jew  I am sick of these milquetoast orators and back slappers “representing the Jewish people.” Foxman, named appropriately, is like the perennial fox in the henhouse. His standing as a “macher,” a Yiddish word for big shot, because he’s  head of  a “major Jewsih organization” gives him credibility while in actuality the Anti- Defamation League has lost its credibility for any Jew who’s been paying attention.

The Anti- Defamation league is no longer a Jewish organization advocating for Jews and monitoring anti- Semitic attacks.  It is just another one of the progressive collaborating organizations advocating for the rights of the transgender community, homosexuals, and Blacks. It is also interesting to note that the organization is solidly against displaying the Ten Commandments, the common standard of moral behavior of both Jews and Christians, in any public building. No matter that displaying the Ten Rules of civilized behavior is not the same as declaring a government religion like in Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, or even the Church of England. No, Abe Foxman does not speak for me or for most Jews I know.

If the words “ Never again” actually mean something, then people like Caroline Glick, Ben Shapiro, Pamela Geller, and Morton Klein actually do speak for many in the Jewish community. We have a president who announces that the Islamic terror massacre of the Jewish grocery, Hyper Cacher, was “random.” I’m sure that thousands of Jews fleeing France is just random too, or in our new Orwellian logic just a coincidence. According to the Jerusalem Post Jews were omitted from a list of minorities mentioned in President Obama’s authorization of force to Congress:

“US  President Barack Obama, in his proposed resolution for Congress that formally authorizes broad-scale use of force against the Islamic State terrorist organization wherever it is, specifically singles out several ethnic groups threatened by the group: Iraqi Christians, Yezidis and Turkmens. ”

I’m sure that was just a random mistake or misprint because no member of any Muslim the group has ever declared “Death to the Jews” or murdered Jews in the name of Allah.

Unfortunately many secular Jews don’t know their own history and continue to grovel to those in power. Instead of unending  Holocaust education about all the Jews that were murdered like sheep for the slaughter, maybe we should have monuments and memorials for all the Jews who fought valiantly for their people like Herzl and Jabotinsky.

Theordor Herzl, an educated secular Jew, was both a lawyer and journalist who covered the notoriously anti-Semitic Dreyfus affair, He believed that anti-Semitism was so rampant that either Jews needed to convert or have a country of their own in order to survive. Zev Jabotinsky was another cosmopolitan Jew who understood the necessity of trained Jewish soldiers standing up in the defense of Jews. Menacham Begin, a disciple, believed that as well. Without his underground war against the British, the state of Israel may not have been resurrected. Rabbi Meir Kahane, formerly an FBI agent, created the Jewish Defense League to protect Jewish communities against anti- Semitic violence. Ironically, he was the first casualty of Palestinian terrorism on USA soil. The young people in the Warsaw Ghetto miraculously held off the Nazis for a month with smuggled and homemade weapons. The percentage that lived to tell the tale is extraordinary considering the strength of the enemy.

Jews have a history of standing on the side of the tiger and eventually getting eaten. Many thought Hitler would bring prosperity back to Germany and Communism would bring an end to anti- Semitism. The millions slaughtered by both ideologies tell the ugly truth. Jews need to stand up for themselves and learn to protect themselves before the tiger’s next meal.

Orwellian Anti-Semitism

Many  pundits and  Intellectuals  use the term Orwellian to describe all the lies and ridiculous policies of our  government.  In Orwell’s masterwork, 1984, the word for this is “doublethink.” An example of this is when the world watched amd applauded the Charlie Hebdo international “protest march.” In reality it was a travesty.  The two biggest Jew haters, Abbas and Erdogen, pretended that Islamic terrorism has nothing to do with them. Both of them incite their people to maim and murder Jews and afterward celebrate the murderers as heroes. When a Muslim jihadist stabbed 13 people on a Tel Aviv bus, Abbas, who was no longer marching for the cameras, said nothing. Instead,  Prime Minster Natanyahu made a statement about the unprovoked attack:

“,,,is the direct result of the poisonous incitemen by the Palestinian Authority against the Jews and their state.”  He continued “[Abbas] is responsible for both the incitement and the dangerous move at the ICC”

 The leaders of France, Britain, and Germany walked arm In arm to demonstrate their stand against terrorism (or something like that). Yet  when 13 people were stabbed  by a  Muslim jihadist on a Tel Aviv bus there was only  silence. Of course, down the “memory hole” went the fact that all three countries have a history of  anti-Semitism. France can feign outrage but the government ignored the cries of Jews that they were being abused, beaten, and murdered for fifteen years, starting with the torture and murder of Ilan Halimi. England fought the Jews and allied with the Arabs in mandated Palestine, betrayed its own Balfour Declaration, and according to a recent report, no Jew has won a discrimination lawsuit in more than ten years. Germany has a well known history of Jew hatred, but many people are unaware of the extent France collaborated with them during WWII

Many of us are used to historic events, like Benghazi, Fast and Furious, the Bo Bergdhal travesty, and Seal Team Six to mention a few,of being discarded down the “memory hole”but the daughter of Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel was shocked that her father was missing from the movie Selma. She was shocked because her father was an advisor to Martin Luther King and walked arm and arm with him during that march. Jews were in the front line of the civil rights movement. Young Jewish men were murdered registering black voters in the segregated south..This is history. Rabbis from many synagogues joined the Freedom March because they believed it was a religious obligation. So did King. It all went down the “memory hole.”

Words like transparency and marriage have lost meaning because society has adopted the Orwellian“newspeak” which is eerily similar to political correctness.  When our president says ISIS is not Islamic that’s newspeak. When  terrorism is called “manmade disasters” and the public is told that Al Queda is “on the run”  that is also Orwellian.

But there’s  a salient fact that nobody mentions. In Orwell’s 1984 everyone must participate in  a daily” two minutes of hate.” The crowd  works itself into a frenzy. Interestingly, the hate is directed at the villain, Emmanual Goldstein. The name makes it obvious that he is a Jew.  Orwell, who understood the power of language, chose that name for a reason. Interestingly too, 1984 is 1948 backwards. That was the year Israel became a country.

Orwell was a visionParis Marchary and believed in the importance of words and how they shape culture.. “Political language . . . is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind” Anti-Semitism  is once again respectable.  Israel endures more than two minutes of hate daily and Islam is “a religion of peace.” Islam makes murder respectable by blaming their vicious barbarism on Israel. Even though this is 2015, it sure feels like we’re living Orwell’s1984.
